Rich L. Dorrough

Rich was born January 29, 1943 in E. St. Louis, IL to John C. and Leona (Waddell) Dorrough.

He married his dear, Jeanette (nee Schaefer) on December 26, 1964, in Belleville, IL. Together, they shared 61 wonderful years together. She survives and resides in Belleville, IL.

Also surviving are his children, Rick Dorrough of Belleville, IL, Patricia (Gregory) Wells of Belleville, IL and Anne (Tom) Trout of Troy, IL; grandchildren, Brandon, Jessi, Jacob, Ryan, Gregory, Alex and Nicole; and his great-grandson, Matteo; siblings, Bill (Cindy) Dorrough, Evelyn Farr, Janet Byrd and Susan Trotter, and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John (Frances) and sister, Jean (Tom); and brother-in-law, David Farr.

Rich was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who was known for his strong work ethic and love of life.

He worked as a sales representative for 3M, a job he truly enjoyed. Rich loved all sports, especially golf, and stayed active by walking often. Over the years, he served as a referee and umpire and enjoyed coaching basketball.

Rich will be remembered for his energy, dedication, and the love he shared with those around him.

Above all else, Rich’s greatest love was his family. He cherished his wife dearly and was deeply devoted to his children and grandchildren, finding his greatest happiness in time spent with them. His warmth, encouragement, and steady presence will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to Siteman Cancer Center.

A visitation for Rich will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 from 10:00 A.M.- 12:00 P.M. at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, IL.

A brief time of sharing will follow, at 12:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Guests are invited to share a fond memory or story.

Interment will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
