Robert E. Cusack Jr.

Mr. Cusack was a devoted catholic and faithful attender of mass at St. Henry Catholic Church, Belleville, Illinois, and an honorary member of the First Baptist Church, Belleville, Illinois; his wife’s church. He loved gardening, landscaping, and traveling. Family always came first, and he relished opportunities to pamper and spoil his loving wife, Dorothy. He was an avid Cardinals fan and of all things Irish. He also served as the family barber, a trade he picked up while serving our country in the Navy, during WWII in the Pacific Theater.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert E. and Caroline, nee Learned, Cusack, Sr.; a grandson, Seth Brandenburg; and a sister, Marge Pugh.

Surviving are his loving wife, Dorothy, nee Shaffner, Cusack, of Belleville, Illinois, his children, Charles I. (Beverlee) Cooper, Jr., of Dayton, Ohio; Shelley (Fred) Brandenburg, of Hermann, Missouri; Babs (Ed) Albiniak, of Boulder, Colorado; Marabeth (Dave) Foreman, of Flint, Michigan; Robyn (Galen) Ramsey, of St. Louis, Missouri; Robert E. (Katherine) Cusack, III, of Ballwin, Missouri; and Missy (Kevin) Adams, of Liberty, Missouri; his grandchildren, Dawn, Darren, Sara, Paige, Ashley, Alyssa, Birkleigh, David, Reeve, Ian, Olivia, Jackson, Branson, Delaney, Audrey, Jessa, and Caroline; six great-grandchildren, Amber, Justin, Ashley, Mia, Isaac, and Riley; his sisters, Sister Roberta Cusack, OSF, and Carolyn (Ed) Hessel; and many nieces , nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, January 19, 2012, at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Illinois, and from 9 to 10 a.m., Friday, January 20, 2012, at St. Henry Catholic Church, Belleville, Illinois.

Funeral: A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, January 20, 2012, at St. Henry Catholic Church, with Father Kenneth York officiating. Interment will be held in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
