

Mr. Simons was veteran of the United States Navy serving in World War II. Robert owned and operated Simons Service in Fairview Heights, Ill., and served the city of Fairview Heights on the police and fire board of commissioners. He was a member of the Fairview Heights VFW Post 8677, East Lodge 504 AF&AM, Scottish Rite Bodies, Ainad Shrine, Royal Order of Jesters, Fairview Heights Optimist Club, Fairview Heights Chamber of Commerce, Illinois Board of Police and Fire Commissioners, and Illinois Sheriffs Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Cecilia, nee Francois, Simons; a son, Mark Simons; a brother, Wallace Simons; a sister, Rose Cecil Simons; and a granddaughter, Linnie Simons.
Surviving is his wife, Joyce E. Simons, nee Ebersohl; two sons, Michael (Gayle) Simons of O 'Fallon, Ill., and Robert (Lisa) Simons of O'Fallon, Ill.; a brother, Lyle E. Simons of Crossville, Tenn.; a sister, Mildred Wilson of O'Fallon, Ill.; six grandchildren, Kyle Simons, Alex Simons, Ryan Simons, Spencer (Hollie) Simons, Scott (Eric) Simons, and Joel Simons; four great-grandchildren, Ethan, Gage, Harper, and Rowyn Simons; and other relatives and many dear friends.
