Ronald Richard Meyer

Ronald Richard Meyer, 59, of Cahokia, Ill. born August 3, 1953 in St. Louis, MO, passed away peacefully surrounded by the ones he laughed with, lived for, and loved on January 10, 2013 at Barnes Jewish Hospital.

Ron was an incredibly intelligent man who enjoyed technology. He worked at Lear Corporation as an IT Manager. In his spare time he enjoyed traveling and playing family poker. He was also a US Marine.

He is preceded in death by his wife Katherine Lynn Meyer, his father Ronald Fred Meyer, and a sister, Kathy Ann Meyer.

He is survived by his three daughters; DeAnna (Charli) Meyer of Belleville, Ill., Nicole (Brad) Harneck of Belleville, Ill., and Melissa (Bill) Meyer of Columbia, Ill., his mother Virginia Meyer, nee Schott, of Dupo, Ill., two brothers, Paul (Tammy) Meyer of Rolla, MO., and David (Carol) Meyer of O’Fallon, MO., One sister, Mary Duncan of Dupo, Ill, and nine grandchildren; Alyssa, Jason, Derric, Jonathan, Brittney, Zackary, Tyler, Elizabeth, and Katlyn. He was our dear uncle, cousin, and friend.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Barnes Jewish Hospital for their dedication and quality care for the final weeks of his battle with Cholangiocarcinoma cancer.

Funeral: Memorial services will be held at 2 pm, Friday, January 18, 2013 at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Illinois with

Rev. Charles West officiating. Per Ron’s request he was to be cremated prior to the memorial service. Interment of his cremated remains will be private at Lake View Memorial Gardens, where he will be interred with his wife.
