Rose was born in Belleville, IL and after her husband’s military service, she returned to Belleville, where she worked for over 20 years for Blanquart Jewelers’ Plain and Fancy Gift Shop Hallmark store in downtown Belleville. She was a member of St. Mary’s Parish.
In November 1998, she and Lyle Sr. took up homestead on their property in Makanda, IL. She continued to work for 5 more years for Hallmark, inside WalMart, until her retirement. She and Lyle Sr. enjoyed sitting at the kitchen table watching the birds and deer that would visit the backyard. She enjoyed her books, Hallmark and cooking channels and loved the Christmas holiday.
She was a woman strong in her faith with a heart of gold. She never had a mean or ill remark and always believed it was not her job to judge, but only forgive and pray; she believed God in heaven would take care of the rest. She was a treasure to her family, the rock on which the house was built. She was a true example of living by “It is in giving that you receive”, because what she gave was a lifetime of love and kindness to anyone. She was the sunshine to her husband when they met and that has continued until her passing. She was the best mother to her children and she bestowed family values, morals, work ethic, faith and love. Rose was a true beauty, inside and out.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Rose’s name.
