
She married Frank “Sonny” Spaniel on October 24, 1959 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Collinsville and he preceded her in death on October 5, 2015. Also, preceding her in death are her parents, Harry and Alice nee Craig Nevinger, her sister and brother-in-law, Kate and Joe Ossola, and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Fred and Beverly Dintelman.
Surviving are her 3 daughters, Laura (Ken) Ban, Linda (Pat) Forhan, and Mary Spaniel; four grandchildren, Clare (Kent) Schmitz, Kathleen and Patrick Forhan, and Christopher Ban; two great-grandchildren, Chase and Lyric Schmitz, and many other relatives and friends.
Ruth was a homemaker and member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Paderborn, IL. Her family was her greatest accomplishment and she lived everyday showing them that this was true. Whether it be running kids to and from school, tending to the sick, babysitting grandchildren or great-grandchildren, or just being a soft shoulder to lean on, she was always there. Her quiet smile and warm heart will be greatly missed.

Funeral: A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 1, 2017, at the funeral home with Father Jim Voelker officiating. Inurnment will follow in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
