Stephen Adam Gordon Sr.

Stephen was a generous soul, who always looked out for others. He donated much of his time to the children at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital, who were battle their own cancers. The saddest moment is realizing that his playful spirit and comforting words will be so greatly missed by Cardinal Glennon and the many children, who looked forward to his visits. He enjoyed model trains, horseback riding, and fishing. He was also an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, who will truly be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward E. and Catherine, nee Carrillo, Gordon, Sr.; and a brother, Jim.

Surviving are his loving wife, Melody Gordon, nee Thomas, of Caseyville, Illinois, his children, Stephen A. Gordon, Jr.; Zachary Gordon, Nicholas (Stephany) Gordon, Aimee (Trevor) Foehrkolb, Amanda Foehrkolb, Jamie Thomas, Carl Thomas, and David (Kelley) Hallam; his grandchildren, Trevan, Ruby, Donald, Opal, Oakley, and Aliza; a brother, Mike Gordon; his former wife and mother of his children, Alice Morgenweck; and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m., Friday, December 2, 2016 at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Illinois, and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Saturday, December 3, 2016 at St. Stephen Catholic Church, in Caseyville, Illinois.

Funeral: Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday December 3, 2016 at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Caseyville, Illinois. Inurnment will be held privately in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
