Thelma Marie Smith Charley

Thelma was a retired meat cutter at Kroger Grocery Store after 24 years of service. She was a proud member of Meat Cutters Union Local 534 and was a member of their retirees club. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. Thelma belonged to the Collinsville Retirees Bridge Club and a regular pinochle player, and also worked for the local election board.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Shirley and Marie, nee Bennett, Smith, and four brothers; Ine, Roy, Jerry, and Jack Smith.

Surviving are her children; Daniel L. (Beverly) McKee of Lowell, Indiana, and Linda S. (Tom) Hazzard of Granite City, Illinois, her grandchildren; Dale (Katherine) McKee of Killeen, Texas, Anjanette (Bruce) Thomasson of Baxter Springs Kansas, and Megan (Brian Elliott) of Mascoutah, Illinois, four great grandchildren; Corrie, Carrie, Alex, and Kenzleigh, a great great grandchild, Addison, a brother; Mike Smith of Oakaville, Illinois, two sisters; Elizabeth “Betsy” Vantlin and Hazel Dunn, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
