

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph W. and Margaret L. (Everhart) Eckmann; his sister, Ruthanne Eckmann; his brother, David K. Eckmann; his son, Jason T. Eckmann; his niece, Judi L. Eckmann; and his granddaughter, Hope H. Lange and Riley Eckmann.
Thomas is survived by daughters, Tina (Chapen) Miller of Caseyville, Illinois; and Stephanie (L.A. Lange) Eckmann of Fairview Heights, Illinois. He is further survived by brother, Charles “Chuck” (Janice) Eckmann; sister, Susanne “Sue” Lowery; nephews, Mike, Kyle, Eric, Joshua, and Jacob and niece, Robin; grandchildren, Blaine, Kaleb, Ryder, Alayna, and Phoenix; great-grandchildren, Aiden, Logan, Ambelina, Cambria, Jackson, and Ember; great-nieces and nephews and many close friends.
He served his country valiantly in the United States Air Force. He then worked several years at Swift Adhesive in Granite City, IL. Before retirement, he later worked as a recruiter for TEKsystems in Jacksonville, Florida and from his home.
During his free time, he enjoyed playing golf, fishing, playing bingo, playing cards and traveling as much as he could. He was very competitive and enjoyed “attempting” to beat his family as often as possible. He truly enjoyed the company of friends and family.
Per Thomas’s wishes, Rites of Cremation will be accorded.
Celebration of Life will begin at 2:00p.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Caseyville Moose Lodge, 8550 Bunkum Road, Caseyville, IL; small service preceded by fellowship and food.
Memorials may be made to either St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or American Cancer Society.
