

Thomas Scaturro of Waterloo, IL, formerly of Venice, IL and Safety Harbor, FL, born March 16, 1928 in Venice, IL to the late Nado and Mary (Fucaloro) Scaturro, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018 in Belleville, IL.
In addition to his parents, Thomas is preceded in death by his son, Lawrence Scaturro; brother, Joseph Scaturro; sons-in-law, Jerry Hicks; John Brugmann; a great-granddaughter Jessica N. Baker; and a sister-in-law, Catherine Scaturro.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 69 years, Mary Donna (Luddon) Scaturro, married October 16, 1948 at St. Marks Catholic Church in Venice, IL; brothers, Bernard "Bud" Scaturro of Caseyville, IL; Leonard Al (Marie) Scaturro of OFallon, MO; Ron (Ann) Scaturro of Grain Valley, MO; sisters-in-law, Rita (Paul Weber) Luddon of Maryland Heights, MO; Sr. Margie Luddon of Allison Park, PA; Cathy Scaturro of St. Charles, MO; five sons, Leonard (Arlene) Scaturro of Millstadt, IL; David (Cathy) Scaturro of Sioux Falls, SD; Michael Scaturro of Madison, IL; Daniel (Michele) Scaturro of St. Louis, MO; Thomas (Marta) Scaturro of Granite City, IL; three daughters, Marguerite Hicks of Atchison, KS; Mary Elizabeth Brugmann of Winfield, MO; Rita (Ken) Jones of Waterloo, IL; 25 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Thomas is a 1945 graduate of Venice High School in Venice, IL. Throughout his life he worked in many fields including 32 years with the Venice Volunteer Fire Department, Deputy Coroner with Lahey Funeral Home, and he was the Superintendent of the Venice Street Department. He served on many committees and boards for the county, district and state; he was elected president of the Illinois State Firemens Association.
Thomas was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
A Funeral Mass with be conducted Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary and St. Mark Church, 1621 10th St. Madison, IL. A visitation and luncheon will follow the Mass at Parish Hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Thomas honor can be made to St Mary and St. Mark Church or charity of your choice.
