William M. Thompson Jr.

William was a United States Air Force Veteran; he retired after 37 years in the Brewery Industry; he was also a past commander and 50 year member in the American Legion Post #299, St. Louis, Mo. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his father, William M. Thompson Sr., and his mother, Minnie Crain, nee Schreiber; and a sister, Wilma (Dale) Deffendall.

Surviving are his loving wife of 61 years, Thelma Thompson, nee Hooper; his three children, Karen Thompson of Collinsville, Ill., Janice (Gary) Risman of St. Jacob, Ill., and David (Laura) Thompson of Collinsville, Ill., Five Grandchildren, Brian (Melissa) Riddle, Scott & Steven Riddle, Andrew and Alexandra Thompson all of Collinsville, Ill.,two step-grandchildren, Nadine and Kelsey Risman and loving great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, July 30, 2010 at Lake View Funeral Home with Chaplain Mike Allen officiating. Interment will be held privately in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
