Wilma Jean Bowen

Wilma honorably served the Department of Defense for 27 years, retiring in April of 2005. Prior to her retirement, she was actively involved in Cub Scouts, the PTA, and was a member of the choir at First Presbyterian Church in Granite City, Illinois. She especially loved attending sporting events that her grandchildren were playing in no matter the sport. She also loved watching her beloved St. Louis Cardinals every chance she got.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Bowen; her parents, Orville and Freda Woodward; and her sister, Ruthie Lutman.

She is survived by her sons, Gerald (Dawn) Bowen and Mark (Angela) Bowen; her brothers, Kenneth Woodward and Robert Woodward; and her sister, Shirley Majka. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Brendan Bowen, Jeremy Bowen, Caitlin Bowen, Ryan Bowen, and Kyle Bowen, as well as her great-grandchildren, Elijah McKnight, Isaiah McKnight, MaKenna Bowen, and Brendan Bowen II.

Visitation will be held at Lake View Funeral Home in Fairview Heights, Illinois, on April 27, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m.
