Carol was born September 5, 1942 in Cleveland, Ohio to Nicholas and Jennie Nauman. She was a dear sister to Donald Nauman (deceased as baby) and Ronald Nauman (deceased) and sister-in-law of Beverly (nee Grande) Nauman (deceased) and sister-in-law Linda (Bill) Kelley.
She was a loving Aunt of Chris (Suzy) Nauman, Michael Nauman (deceased), David Nauman (deceased), Thomas Nauman, Kenneth (Linda) Nauman, Daniel (Kim) Nauman and Ann Marie (nee Nauman) (Chris) Kippes. And she was great-aunt to 8 wonderful nieces and 4 nephews and many loving cousins.
She was blessed with a wonderful family and good friends. Carol attended St. Augustine Academy and went on to a career in Advertising. Her first position was at the Cleveland Plain Dealer in the Advertising Department for several years after which she took a position with Lang, Fisher and Stashower Advertising Agency in their Creative Dept.
Carol married Thomas Ianiro May 4, 1963. In 1970, Carol and Tom moved to Columbus, Ohio. In 1977 Tom accepted a position with the Midwest Stock Exchange, so Carol and Tom moved to Wheaton, Illinois near Chicago.
Carol enjoyed Chicago and loved to entertain, do volunteer work, travel and play golf, especially at the Medinah Country Club where they were members. She enjoyed frequent trips back to Cleveland to visit friends and family. She moved back to the Cleveland area in 2017 after her beloved husband, Tom, died in 2016. Carol loved music and dancing. She learned tap dancing. Her father taught her accordion and she subsequently learned to play the piano and organ.
Many people used to tell Carol that she should write a book so she put together a “Klocek” (her mother’s maiden name) Family Record Book followed by a family Easter Brunch in 2015 so cousins could meet each other.
It was tradition that “Aunt Carol” always made “church window” cookies for Christmas. She made sure every family member received a sufficient supply no matter what state she had to ship them to.
Carol wanted to leave these words for everyone: “We leave a legacy each day and that is more reason to live a life as fulfilling and meaningful as we can. God’s will is for us to inherit eternal life and that which comes later is better than that which comes first.”
Come celebrate Carol’s life Thursday, January 15, from 9am till time of funeral Mass at 10am in St. Mell Church, 14436 Triskett Rd. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
