Robert "Bob" John Hill

ROBERT JOHN HILL, age 84 of Rocky River, OH passed away peacefully, with his family by his side on Sunday, Nov. 21, 2010, from his recent diagnosis of Acute Leukemia. Bob was the precious and devoted husband to his wife, Margaret (Likavec) for the past 63 years. Loving father to Lynda Mears, Pamela Szegedy (Allen), Carole Halasy (Jeff), Gary (Cathy), Brian (Beth), Jeffrey (Nancy) and the late Robert (Ladelle). Dedicated grandfather of 17 and great-grandfather of six. Born on September 16, 1926, Bob served in the United States Navy during World War II. Upon his return, Bob started a successful painting and decorating company, Advanc-ed Decorating Corporation. Although committed to his company and other business ventures seven days a week, he still found time to make his family his No. 1 priority by taking them camping, fishing, and on annual family vacations. Bob never missed an opportunity to support his children, grandchildren or great-grandchildren by attending their various activities and athletic events. In his spare-time, Bob enjoyed golfing, fishing, horses, and playing cards with his friends at the VFW Post #3345, Lakewood Elks Lodge #1350 and Executive Club and most importantly volunteering at St. Malachi's Church for the past 30 years. Bob will be remembered for his sense of humor, his strong work ethic, his dedication to his family and his strong faith. He can now be at eternal peace forever with his son, Robbie. All friends and relatives are welcome to join the family for a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Angela Merici Church in Fairview Park, 20970 Lorain Road, on Friday, Nov. 26 at 10 A.M.
