Ron was a character, fun-loving, quick-witted, mischievous but truly one of the kindest men I ever met.  When I was on medical leave five years ago he called me every month to just say, "Hey, kid, how ya doin?"  Then a few years ago he called me unexpectedly when my alma mater was in the NCAA Frozen Four and said, "I have a ticket for you and a place for you to stay (thanks, Carlene!), you just have to get yourself out here."   A six-hour drive later I was with Ron in Pittsburgh.  I will miss you.

To Ron's family and large extended family,
Ron and I had much in common:  same age, our careers in risk management, and an enjoyment of golf.  Like so many I quickly joined Ron's wide circle of friends.  He had an innate ability to put people at ease so everyone wanted to be around him.  One of Ron's legacies is the many lives he enriched with his good heartedness.  
He will be missed but not forgotten.

I knew Ron for over 12 years here at KeyBank.  I got to know him over time and always enjoyed his great attitude.  He will be missed by so many.  It was unbelievable to hear he had passed on because he was so full of life and spirit.  My heartfelt condolences to the family.

To re-post since my last one was blank: We are devastated for Carlene, Kristen, Daniel and Andrea. We got to know Ron in the last few years and appreciated him for his many wonderful qualities. Most of all, we couldn't wait to have him as our brother-in-law and spend many more years together. My heart aches for Andrea.

Through Andrea, Ron was the big brother I always wished for. So intelligent and quick-witted, so perfect for her. And such wonderful family and longtime friends! We're all so fortunate to have known and loved him. Rest in peace, Ron.

Ron, you were always so funny and so kind to me. Thank you for all of the York Peppermint Patties, and for hollering over the wall an occasional it's 5'O'clock some where for me.  You will be missed.

I had the good fortune to meet Ron at an Indian's game this spring.  He was so proud of his children and so in love with Andrea.  I know that you will all miss him.

Wow.  So hard.  Such a great guy to know and work with.  So glad that he got to see his Pens win the Cup!  I will miss him all of this football/hockey/baseball season for his biting comments on NY teams.  Miss him tremendously!  My condolences to his friends and family.

To the family of Ron, I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Ron and traveling throughout the country with him while an employee of KeyCorp and a Director, together with Ron, of Financial Institutions Reserve Risk Retention Group. A fantastic sense of humor, and a great person. You have my sympathy for your loss.

To Ron's loved ones -  I have known Ron (or as I like to call him Rawn) since the mid 80's when we worked together in Finance (SNB).  Over the years we have often run into each other at random unch places downtown, watering holes after work and even at the airport --  which is where we met you, Andrea! Huge, HUGE void in our hearts. So many special memories from 32 years of being blessed with his friendship -- his sense of humor and genuine smile. A tongue-in-cheek Ron quote -- whether it applied to golf (usually golf) or any challenge in life: "Just do the best you can with your limited abilities." (Followed by laughter). To the family of Ron, my sympathies to all of you.   I met Ron in 1985 through the Risk Insurance Management Society when a five state conference was held.  We became instant friends seeing that we both were risk managers at financial institutions.  Ron and I remained in contact through the years and while at the annual ABA conference.   He was always willing to listen, to share his wisdom, to help others succeed.  I learned much from Ron and will truly miss him. I had the opportunity to visit with Ron in Cleveland two weeks ago, after having not seen him since the early 1980's when we worked together in Pittsburgh for Chubb. I was so happy to hear of his wonderful life in Cleveland with his family and his career success.My sincere sympathy for your loss.

In looking through old pictures of Rawn on my phone, he is smiling in every single one. I mean, every one. He had that kind of love for life and for his friends and family. My prayers go out to Andrea, Carlene, Kristen and Daniel and really to all of us who were among his many, many friends. He will be missed, but his smile lives on in all of us.

Andrea, Carlene, Kristen and Dan,  for me Ron was a mentor, a client, a peer, but most importantly a friend.  Within that weird world of his profession and mine that no one really understands he was a larger than life person that was loved and revered by all.   I will miss calling him to both get his thoughts on an issue, and share funny stories.  Ron loved life, and he will be terribly missed.
