Our mother, Rosemary Major, was born in the house her grandfather built on W.44 Cleveland Ohio. There she grew up with her parents and 7 siblings Leonard, Bill, Ed, Marie, Angela, Genevieve, and Bernadette. A fun note is that Leonard gave her the best nick name of “Chic”, as she was lovingly known to family over the years. Family was important, so although her siblings had passed on, she enjoyed keeping in touch with many nieces and nephews.
One of mom’s first jobs included sorting potato chips at Num Num Foods! In later years, she enjoyed working with numbers in the evenings at various banks downtown, including Key Bank.
Many joys in life included marriage to and raising the four of us children with Zolton Major .Precious times included being with grandchildren and great grandchildren. Other activities included playing bingo, scrabble, doing puzzles, and watching the Indians. Wheel of Fortune was a favorite and came on every night at 7! Going out to eat and getting hot fudge sundaes at Malley’s were always a treat!
Mom’s faith was an integral part of her life. She attended church regularly in person and online. Mom would gather the family to pray kneeling around her bed when a loved one was in need. She could be found kneeling at her bedside saying morning prayers. At church she was an inspiration lifting up her voice in praise and thanksgiving.
Although the last few months were difficult for mom, we will always treasure the sweet smiles and warm hugs that she graced us with throughout. We are now grateful to know that mom is with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, resting in His arms, and celebrating with all the loved ones who have gone before her.
