William A. Cowden

William Allen Cowden age 70. Bill was born May 1, 1950 to Monabelle (nee Poorman) and Allen Cowden (both deceased) in Cleveland Oh. He was promoted to a peacefull battalion of angels Aug. 12, 2020 after an heroic fight with cancer. Bill was a loving brother of Edward Hugney (deceased) (Patricia), John Beatty (Maryanne), James Beatty. Bill was a brave and kind man who appreciated old wood furniture and lovingly refinished many pieces. He was known in the neighborhood for building bird houses that he hung on the garage for the birds he cared for.

While serving as a Marine in Vietnam, Bill received a meritorious combat promotion from the Commander of the 1st Battalion, 1st Marines in 1970.

Bill is sorry to leave the people he loved. Among them his partner of 29 years Beverly Britz, friend and sister-in-law Patricia Hugney, nieces and nephews: best buddy Jerry Hugney (Allison), Edward Hugney, Michelle LaGruth (Joseph), Thomas Hugney (Kerry), favorite cousin Nancy Andos and many friends.

Much gratitude to all at the Louis Stokes VAMC, for their kind professionalism over the years and to all at Hero's Harbor Hospice at the VAMC for the tender care they provided. Bill has been cremated. Lets celebrate Bill's life with acts of kindness and remember him when we hear a beautiful bird song.
