

A True Humanitarian
David lived a life of unselfish kindness to other. He spent the most important part of his life working at St. Vincent’s Home for Children, where for 20 years he was devoted to the care of so many. His life was enriched by knowing he made a difference to those in need. As a family member, a friend or a stranger, one could always count on David to be there, no matter what.
David had a thirst for knowledge and information about the world and current events. He was also an avid Boston sports enthusiast, never missing a Patriots, Red Sox, Bruins or Celtics game, nor an International Tennis or Soccer tournament.
David was born in Fall River and attended Bishop Connolly High School. David was also a Bishops Boy for Bishop Connolly at St. Mary’s Cathedral. He worked at Pioneer Finishing while attending night school at Bishop Community College where he earned an Associate’s degree.
David is the son of Joseph Hafey and Mary Gilligan Hafey. He is the brother to the late Mary Patricia “Pat” Dolan Morowitz, Thomas “Jimmy” James Dolan, Robert “Bobby” Dolan, Angelina “Nina” Hafey and Elizabeth “Liz” Yenger. His remaining siblings are Michael Hafey, Joseph “Joe” Hafey, Geralyn Hafey and Linda Hafey. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews who loved him.
His friend John Sullivan was like family and supported his to the end.
David was born on April 4, 1954 and died on April 21, 2023.

A Funeral Mass for David and Pat will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 10:00AM in St. Mary's Cathedral, 327 Second Street, Fall River, MA 02721.
