

Dorothy “Dot” M. (Bernard) Turgeon, who would have celebrated her 92nd birthday on Tuesday, November 26, 2013, died November 21, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Retired Fall River Fire Fighter Rudolph E. Turgeon.
Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Lena (Moran) Belanger, she was a lifelong resident, having lived on Ridge St. for over 60 years. She was a graduate of BMC Durfee High School, Class of 1939 and a communicant of the former St. Patrick’s Church, now Good Shepherd.
In addition to being a caring homemaker, she worked for the former Zayres’ Department Store for 18 years.
She was the mother of two daughters: Katherine Pruneau and her husband Thomas of No. Dighton, Maureen Phenix and her husband Russell of Somerset, one son: Robert J. Turgeon and his wife Cynthia of Fall River and grandmother of Jason and Christopher Phenix (Laurie) , Kathryn Matos (William), Bridget and David Turgeon and Sarah Dumke (Jason). She was known as “Nana Dot” to many – especially her 7 great grandchildren: Sydney, Cole, Reagan, Thomas, Ryan, Elizabeth, James and Alexis. She was also the sister of the late Henry and his wife Kada Bernard.
Her funeral will be held Monday, November 25, 2013 at 9AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at CHERRY PLACE, 178 Winter St. Fall River with a funeral mass at 10 AM in Good Shepherd Parish, 1598 South Main St. Fall River. Visiting hours Sunday 2-5 PM. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery Fall River.
