To the family of Dr. O'Riordan ~ Dr. O'Riordan and I both began working at the Rutland Hospital the same year.  A few years after we began working there, I accepted a new position and my office was located just around the corner from his.  It was then that I came to know what a truly intelligent, compasionate, dedicated and humorous person he was.  We had some great conversations and shared a lot of laughter.  It was a pleasure having him as my work neighbor and I missed him when he left.  I was very saddened to read of his passing and would like you to know that you are all in my thoughts at this very difficult time.  Thank you for sharing the picture of him.  With sincere sympathy,

To all Eoghan's survivors, I enjoyed many wonderful moments with Eoghan, Anita, Bob and Breda Harnish over the years he was practicing in Rutland, Vermont. He hypnotised my mother and she never smoked a cigarette again. He hypnotised me, and although it worked perfectly, I feared that he'd overcome my will and made myself a smoker again. How foolish he noted, as it was my will that he channeled to bring an end to smoking! He will be remembered.

Although the miles and time has passed since we worked together, I always remember the time long ago at Union Hospital with fond thoughts. Fred along with many others have passed and hopefully you will all meet in heaven.

It was with great sadness that we learned of your passing. We have many happy memories of growing up as a family in Laburnum Park in Cork. You were the big brother and the white haired boy. We are very happy to know that you had all those wonderful years of retirement in what you referred to as "paradise" in La Paz, Mexico.

Dear Mike, Karen, Brian, and Sean. Will all be thinking of you on the 6th, so sorry we could not make it, really would have liked to have managed it but it was not to be.  I have very fond memories of Uncle Eoghan and his many visits to us in Cork, he used to spend some parts of the summer with us when he worked in the Bons Hospital, and we loved having him around particularly Mum and Dad..He got on famously with Dad, they used to watch alot of comedy programmes and you could always hear the laughter coming from both of them, im not entirely sure that Uncle Eoghan wanted to be subjected to hours of Dads favourite tv programmes but he always obliged.... He once hypnotised friends of my mums, Dave O'Leary and his daughter Michelle, to quit smoking - and to this day they both thank him and remember him for it as they have not smoked in over 20yrs.... As a result during one of his many visits I decided to ask him to hypnotise me to stop eating so many sweets, and given the great results he had achieved with Dave and Michelle - I had high hopes.... Needless to say, I lay there patiently pretending to be nodding off, as I didnt want to upset him that i was not relaxing, so I let on that it had worked, but it clearly didnt as I have clearly inherited the O'Riordan sweet tooth.... Having met all Eoghans kids through the years, I am confident he was very proud of them all, he was a lovely man, very charming and always had time for us when he came to see us... In later years I was often at my mothers when he would call on the phone from La Paz, and I'd ask him how he was and he would always say "The sun is shining, everything is great, life couldn't be better" and I was very happy for him, and that is how I want to remember my Uncle Eoghan....
