

Idalina “Dolly” (Farias) Walsh, age 89 of Fall River, died Sunday, November 7, 2010 in Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of Albert M. Walsh to whom she had been married for 68 years.
Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Manuel and Deolinda (Borges) Farias, she was a lifelong resident of the city.
She was a graduate of Espirito Santo Elementary School and attended B.M.C. Durfee High School. In addition to being a Homemaker, she worked at the former Garlands Warehouse in Fall River for five years.
Dolly was a communicant of Espirito Santo and Immaculate Conception Churches both in Fall River and enjoyed ballroom dancing at Lincoln Park.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children, Steven A. Walsh and his wife Suzanne M. of Swansea, and Dolly Ann Bell and her husband William of Spring Lake, NC; four grandchildren Scott Brisk and his wife Kathy of TN, Kim Mello and her husband Derek of AZ, Mark Brisk and his wife Paula of Westport, MA, and Lorie Kauffman and her husband Tom of Bristol, RI; great grandmother of nine. Sister in law of Henrietta Walsh of Queens, NY and Robert Walsh of Lewes, DE, and several nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late Joseph and Beatrice Farias.
Her Funeral will be held on Friday, November 12, 2010 at 9:30AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at CHERRY PLACE 178 Winter St., Fall River, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:30AM in Espirito Santo Church 311 Alden St., Fall River. Visiting hours Thursday from 4-8pm. Flowers are welcome or contributions in her honor may be made to Espirito Santo Church 311 Alden St., Fall River, MA 02723. Entombment will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum.
