James J. Crockett, age 79 of New Bedford, passed away Monday, May 7, 2012 in Brandon Woods Nursing Home in New Bedford. He was the husband of Jeanne (Caya) Crockett to whom he has been married for 20 years.
He was born in Hope, ME, the son of the late William and Olive (Pease) Crockett and was a graduate of Camden High School. He was the owner and operator of Crockett’s Truck Center on Rte. 6 in Westport for many years. Mr. Crockett was a United States Marine Corp Veteran having served during the Korean War.
In addition to his wife he is survived by four children; James S. Crockett and Joseph Crockett and his wife Renee all of Arizona, Jon Crockett and his wife Cate of California and Jennifer Crockett of Connecticut; two step children Jason and Amanda Medeiros both of Fall River; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
His Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at 9:30AM in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT CHERRY PLACE 178 Winter St., Fall River. Visiting hours will be Tuesday, from 9 to 9:30AM prior to his service. Burial will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
