

Born in Fall River, son of the late Charles A. and Margaret C. (Manning) McCloskey, he was a lifelong resident of Fall River and a longtime communicant of Holy Name Church. He owned and operated Romac Mechanical Contractors in Fall River for many years until his retirement. An Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict, he held the rank of Staff Sergeant.
Jim was a member of the Corky Row Club, Fall River Country Club, Quequechan Club, Over the Hill Gang, and a longtime member of Local 51 Plumbers and Pipefitters in East Providence.
Surviving in addition to his wife are one son; Timothy P. McCloskey, and his wife Nancy Caron McCloskey of Swansea, one brother; Thomas M. McCloskey and his wife Janina, two sisters; Maureen C. McCloskey and Margo C. Waddicor and her husband Stephen A. all of Fall River, three grandchildren; Maille and Hannah McCloskey and Emma Jane Ternes. Father of the late Michaela McCloskey – Ternes and brother of the late Charles A. McCloskey, Jr. and John K. McCloskey. He is also father in law of Mark Ternes.
Funeral Thursday, October 4, 2012 at 8AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT CHERRY PLACE 178 Winter St., Fall River followed by a funeral mass at 9AM in Holy Name Church, 709 Hanover St., Fall River. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery. Visiting hours Wednesday 4 to 7PM. Relatives and friends invited.
