James Henry Reed

Born in New Bedford, a son of the late Leslie and Albina (Delise) Reed, he was raised in Tiverton before moving to Galveston, TX, where he lived for over 25 years before moving back to Tiverton in 2007.

Mr. Reed graduated from Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School. He was a Veteran of the United States Army. A handy man, he worked as a self-employed mechanic and carpenter for many years. He also enjoyed working with leather, and bred and raised Boston Terriers with his wife.

In addition to his wife Joan, he is survived by one daughter: Ronda Reed of Fall River, four sons: Ronnie Reed of Fall River, Jimbo Reed of Fall River, Douglas Goncelo of Fall River and Kevin Goncelo of Florida, three stepdaughters: Michelle DiManno and her husband John of Somerset, Lynn Oliveira and her husband Joseph of Fall River and Cheryl Blanchette and her husband Jody of Somerset, one stepson: Ronald Tavares and his wife Jeanne of Swansea, four brothers: Eddie Reed of Mississippi, Billy Reed of Ware, MA, Sonny Reed of Vermont and Jerry Reed of Fall River, three sisters: Shirley Arruda of Tiverton, Lorraine Fritzler of Arizona and Donna Nickerson of Fall River, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Private services are in the care of the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Cherry Place.
