Jane Scott

Jane A. (Taylor) Scott, age 87, of Tiverton, RI passed away peacefully at home on Monday, September 5, 2022 with her loving family. She was the wife of the late Richard L. Scott, to whom she had been married for 61 years until his passing in October of 2016.

Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late George Albert Taylor and the late Edna (Kennedy) Taylor, she spent her early years in Fall River, where she was a graduate of BMC Durfee High School before moving to Tiverton, where she has been a resident for over 60 years.

Jane loved the snow. She enjoyed snowmobiling in Maine with family and friends, vacationing in New Hampshire and NASCAR racing. Holidays and times with family were also very meaningful to Jane. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were a big of part of her life and held close to her heart.

Mrs. Scott is survived by her daughter Nancy Berube-Rousseau and her husband Paul; a son in-law Jack Hoover and a brother Robert Taylor all of Tiverton; three granddaughters Tonya Berube Murray, Kerri Hoover Carreiro and Stacy Beth Hoover; three great grandsons Jake, Tyler and Jaxon Carreiro and several nieces and nephews.

Jane was predeceased by her daughter Debby Scott Hoover and her brother Carl Taylor.

Her family would like to especially thank Jane’s caregivers, Elaine and Stephanie, for their compassionate care and friendship that they shared with Jane over the years.

Her funeral arrangements are private and in the care of the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place in Fall River.
