Jean H. McCanna

Jean H. (Sperduti) McCanna, age 91, a lifelong resident of Fall River, passed away at home on Thursday, September 22, 2022. She was the wife of the late Francis J. McCanna. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Achilles and Mary (Merola) Sperduti. Jean worked for the City of Fall River as a Principle Clerk for Public Welfare for over 50 years. She was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Cathedral and enjoyed watching religious programs and reading the Bible. She is survived by one sister, Genevieve C. Gardella; one sister-in-law, Doris T. Sperduti both of Fall River as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. Jean was the sister of the late Dominick R., Richard D., and Edward B. Sperduti. Jean’s family would like to extend a thank you to all of her caregivers for their time and attention. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 from 8:15 to 9:15 AM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Mary’s Cathedral, Spring St., Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
