Jean L. Reese

Jean L. (Ahrens) Reese, 90, of Westport, MA formerly of Hobe Sound, FL, passed away Saturday, October 13, 2012 at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford, MA. She was the wife of the late David R. Reese USAF Ret. Jean was born in Oil City, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Albert and Anna May (Guthrie) Ahrens.

Among her loving family and friends, Jean was known for her caring nature and her deep concern for others. While far from many family members and friends during parts of her life, she kept them close with cards, calls, short visits, and warm thoughts.

She is survived by her two loving children, Dorie Freeman and her husband Thomas of Westport, MA and David D. Reese of Bryantown, MD; three adored grandchildren: Michael Freeman of Los Angeles, CA, Kara Freeman and David Freeman both of New York, NY; a dear sister Doretta Needham of Manchester, MD; two loving brothers: James Ahrens of Arlington, VA and William Ahrens of Priest River, ID; a best and dear friend Jean O’Donnell Liana of Boardman, OH and many special nieces and nephews.

Funeral Arrangements are private and in the care of the Waring-Sullivan Funeral Homes, Fall River, MA. She will be entombed with her beloved husband in Arlington National Cemetery, in Arlington, VA.
