Jeffrey W. Clarke

Jeffrey W. Clarke, age 61, of Westport, formerly of Swansea, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2015 in Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Linda A. (Shores) Clarke to whom he has been married for 25 years.

Born in Providence, RI the son of Warren and Lois (Sherry) Clarke of Swansea, he was a graduate of Joseph Case High School in Swansea and he received his Associates Degree from Grahm Junior College in Boston.

Mr. Clarke was employed as a Locate Technician for On Target Utilities for the past 10 years. He spent over thirty years in the sand and gravel business working for his father at Assonet Sand and Gravel, as well as Westport Sand and Stone. He was an avid golfer and former member of the Touisset Country Club in Swansea. Jeff would volunteer at the CVS Classic in Barrington and was a diehard New York Giants Fan.

In addition to his wife of 25 years and his parents, he is survived by his 2 daughters Rebecca L. Pereira and her husband Aaron and Amy L. Clarke all of Westport; one granddaughter Sophie Pereira of Westport; two sisters Betsy Rife of Swansea and Sherry Clarke of Riverside, RI, and a brother Gregory Clarke of Swansea.

His Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:00PM in the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Cherry Place 178 Winter St., Fall River. Funeral Service and Burial will be Private. Flowers are welcome or memorial contributions in his honor may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
