Marie B. LaFrance

Marie B. LaFrance, age 82, passed away on Monday, November 20, 2023 at her home in Tiverton. She was the wife to the late Robert N. LaFrance. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Margaret (Cantwell) Roberts, she was a long-time resident of Tiverton. A graduate of Sacred Heart Academy, she received her Undergraduate Degree from Providence College where she then continued her education at Bridgewater State University, earning her Master’s Degree. A Teacher, Principal, and Director of Early Childhood Education for the Fall River Public School System, she worked for over 30 years, before her retirement.

Marie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her hobbies including spending time with her husband and making memories with her family and lifelong friends. Marie enjoyed a good laugh, salty snacks and preferred to be surrounded by animals. She was an avid beach lover and traveler.

She is survived by two daughters, Annemarie Dias of Westport and Patrice Goodman of Tiverton; four granddaughters, Nicole Coogan, Caitlin Hoffman, Stephanie Dias, and Samantha Dias and one great grandson, Jack, as well as many beloved nephews and nieces including: Joan Silvia, Christine Roberts, Karen Shaker, Kerry Roberts , Thomas Roberts, Lynne Bisbano, Joanne Wood and the late Alan Roberts. She was the sister of the late Harold Roberts Jr. and Thomas Roberts.
