Born in Fall River, daughter of the late Charles E. and Drusilla (Slater) Gibney, she was a lifelong area resident and a graduate of the former Sacred Hearts Academy in Fall River. She was employed for many years as a teacher’s aide with the Fall River School Department at the Dubuque School, retiring in 2008.
Surviving one son: Richard Medeiros of Portsmouth, RI, three sisters: Maureen Harnett of Middleboro, MA, Joan Kelley of Swansea, MA and Drusilla Boyes of Jacksonville Beach, FL, two grandchildren: Samantha Nelson Medeiros and Ryan Thompson. Mother of the late Lynne M. Thompson and sister of the late Margaret Denton and Irene Conroy.
Funeral Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 8AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT CHERRY PLACE, 178 Winter Street, Fall River followed by a funeral mass at 9AM in Sacred Heart Church, Linden Street, Fall River. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery. Visiting hours Friday 4-7PM.
