Nancy Turner

Nancy Turner, age 74, of Tiverton, passed away Friday, March 22, 2024 at her residence. Born in Newport, a daughter of the late William K. and Mary Louise (Borden) Turner, she lived in Newport for many years prior to moving to Tiverton a year ago.

A graduate of Portsmouth High School, Class of 1968, she received her Associate’s Degree from Bristol Community College and her certification in Histology from St. Joseph’s Hospital and Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. She worked as a Histology Technician at Newport Hospital for thirty years.

Nancy was always ready for a family party in particular enjoying Sunday night suppers and camping. She also traveled extensively with family and friends.

She was a life long member of the United Congregational Church in Middletown. A lover of music, she enjoyed singing and was a member of the Swanhurst Choral group in Newport.

She is survived by two sisters, Louise Boyd and her husband Michael of Tiverton, Susan Casey and her husband John of Middletown and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Kendal and William Turner.

Her Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the United Congregational Church, 524 Valley Rd., Middletown, RI. Relatives and friends are invited. Contributions in her honor may be made to the Newport Library, 300 Spring St., Newport, RI 02840 or to a charity of one’s choice. Burial private.
