

Paul T. Kiely, age 68, of Fairhaven formerly of Fall River, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, August 7, 2013 in St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford. He was the husband of Geraldine (Matthews, Claflin) Kiely to whom he had been married for 20 years.
Born in Fall River, the son of the late Raymond J. Kiely Sr. and the late Mary L. (Leary) Kiely, he was a 1963 graduate of BMC Durfee High School and received his Bachelor’s degree from Southeastern Massachusetts University in 1967.
Mr. Kiely was employed as a Supervisor for the State of Massachusetts for over 30 years in Department of Transitional Assistance in New Bedford, retiring in 2003.
Paul was a devoted grandfather and cherished their time together along with family and friends. He was an avid golfer and wintered in Port St. Lucie, FL.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two sons James A. Kiely and his wife Paula of Westport and Matthew P. Kiely and his wife Heather of Barrington, RI; seven grandchildren Katie, Jacob and Nicholas Claflin, Emily, Meagan, Olive and Zane Kiely; a brother Raymond J. Kiely Jr. and his wife Sandra of Kansas City, MO; his former wife Donna Kiely of Fall River and several nieces and nephews.
His family will receive friends from 4 to 6PM on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at the Fall River Country Club 4232 North Main St., Fall River, MA. An Informal Speaking Program will begin at 6pm where family and friends will have an opportunity to share a memory or tell a story. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Boys & Girls Club of Fall River, Development Office, 803 Bedford St., Fall River, MA 02723.
