

Ralph R. Martori, age 72, of Westport, passed away Friday, November 27, 2015 in Charlton Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Sharon L. (Grundy) Martori to whom he has been married for the past 51 years.
Born in Cambridge, a son of the late Joseph and Edith (Caristo) Martori, he spent his youth in Arlington before moving to Westport in 1966. He and his wife also wintered in Polk City, Florida for many years.
A graduate of Arlington High School, he attended Bristol Community College and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Salve Regina University. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force serving during the Vietnam War as Senior Airman. He retired as Rear Commodore from the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary.
A Financial Advisor, he was the owner and operator of Massachusetts Financial Group in Westport. Mr. Martori retired from the Westport Police Department in 1973. He established the Westport safety program and was the town’s first safety officer.
A motor home enthusiast, he and his wife enjoyed traveling throughout the country. He was an avid train collector and belonged to local train clubs.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son: Richard J. Martori and his wife Robin, two daughters: Rhonda L. Pereira and her husband John, Julie A. Stahley and her husband David all of Westport, two grandchildren: John R. Pereira, II, and Nikolai D. Stahley, two great-grandchildren: Aylah and Devin Pereira, and several nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Joseph Martori.
His Funeral will be held on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at 9:30AM in the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Cherry Place, 178 Winter Street, Fall River. Visiting hours prior to his service from 8:30 to 9:30AM. Contributions in his honor may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
