Thomas S. “Scott” Carroll, age 73, of Somerset, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 12, 2025, at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Lauren A. (McGuire) Carroll, with whom he shared a devoted partnership since 1999.
Born in Fall River, Scott was the son of the late Thomas L. and Genevieve G. (Travis) Carroll. A lifelong entrepreneur and creative spirit, he was the proud owner and founder of Carroll Signs, which he established in the early 1990s. His passion for his craft and commitment to his community made his business a respected presence for decades.
Scott had a deep love for music, a passion he nurtured throughout his life. A talented multi-instrumentalist, he played the saxophone, flute, guitar, and was a vocalist in several bands over the years. In his earlier years, he was an avid skier and competed as part of his college’s ski team. A true humanitarian, he had a deep love for animals.
Above all, Scott cherished time spent with his family and friends. He was a proud and loving father and grandfather, and his greatest joy came from being surrounded by those he loved.
In addition to his wife, Scott is survived by his daughters: Jessica Carroll (Hakan Cakmak) of Hawaii, Johanna Carroll (Frank Macri) of Fall River, and Sara McGuire of Somerset; his cherished grandchildren: Devyn, Audrianna, and Joseph; his brother, Christopher Carroll (Colleen) of West Greenwich; his sister, Maryellen ‘Emmy’ Carroll of Wellfleet; as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
Private services are under the care of Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter Street, Fall River.
