

William H. Sears, “Bill,” age 84, of Fall River, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Southpointe Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Fall River. He was the husband of Georgia “Maxine” (Williams) Sears to whom he has been married for the past 64 years.
Born in Fall River, a son of the late, William H. Sears Sr. and Mildred (Brown) Sears, he was a lifelong resident of the city.
He worked as an mechanic for many years and had worked at Barbosa Ford, Dodge Boys, and the Yellow Cab Company. Prior to that, Mr. Sears worked as a machinist for Sterling Pile and Pioneer Finishing.
An avid New England sports fan, he used to be a boxer and was the recipient of the golden glove.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by seven children; Gayle Scott of Chattanooga, TN, Robin Sears and his wife Rosemary of Sunrise, FL, William Sears, Douglas Sears and his companion Linda all of Newport, Regina Sears of New Bedford, Brenda Sears and Martin Sears both of Fall River, two sisters; Gertrude Bork of Milwaukee, WI, Gladys Bookman of Swansea, 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Dorothy Lopes, Mildred Garnett, George Sears, John Sears, Patricia Graham and Frances Butler.
His Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 2:00PM in the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours prior to his service from 12:00 to 2:00PM. Burial Private.
