My father, Al Boyce, held different roles in the lives of many. He was a loving son, husband, father, stepfather , grandfather and friend. I couldn't have asked for a better father. Whatever I needed, he was there.  My Dad was a special person. There wasn't an animal or creature he didn't treasure, from his beloved dogs to  birds, horses, chinchillas, the occasional cat and even a few saltwater eels named Murray. Most don't know that my Dad played brief stints as a superhero throughout his life..he onced pulled a woman and her children from a burning car when I was barely old enough to remember it, he helped save a couple people from the Potomac River, and he rescued a group of feral puppies from an abandoned barn and helped rehome them.  He was a great outdoorsman who could chop you down a nice Christmas tree and who built his own inground pool mostly by himself in his spare time. A professional, a down to earth dentist who dedicated his life to the dental health and education of his patients, yet still kept his sweet tooth. An avid reader, a sportscar and motorcycle enthusiast, classic rock and roll lover, sci-fi and action fan with a great sense of humor. He served in the Navy, served his community in the Jaycees, took wonderful care of his family and  worked hard his entire life. In short, Al Boyce will be sorely missed.

Deepest condolences to the family on Dr. Boyce’s passing. My parents and I were long-time patients of Dr. Boyce. He was a down to earth guy and he always took good care of us.   My dad, now 97, always said, “Dr. Boyce has good hands and his work really holds up.” We still laugh about Dr. Boyce telling my mom not to grab his hand while he was working on her teeth. 
Dr. Boyce was one-of-a kind and he leaves behind a community of people who will miss him greatly.

Doc Boyce helped me out a lot over the years.He did excellent work, performed his own cleanings (which is rare these days) very gentle taking breaks during longer procedures to make sure patients level of pain was tolerable. Doc B was an all around great guy I considered a friend. He loved animals, firearms, motorcycles, exotic fast cars, He could be pretty funny sometimes too. Always looked forward to my office visits. I will miss doc B a lot, he & family will be in our thoughts & prayers.

Our condolences to Dr. Boyce's family. We and our children had been in Dr.  Boyce's good care since we moved to Fairfax 34 years ago. We enjoyed sharing news on family happenings and life.

Our sincere condolences to the Boyce family. 

My wife, Dr. Christopher and I worked closely with Dr. Boyce almost every day for the past 20 years . 
His integrity and professionalism were exemplary. 

He had dedicated his professional career to provide the best care to his patients. We’re in awe about his strength in the final chapter of his life. We’re heartbroken for his loss as a friend and colleague. 



Many an ADA meeting was shared with Dr Boyce. I went to school with his second wife, Cathy, and have wonderful memories of both.  They both will be missed by family friends and their dental friends. My condolences to Debbie and his family
