Born and raised in Petersburg, Virginia, Al was a highly skilled auto mechanic who dedicated much of his career to his craft. He worked many years for Rosenthal Chevrolet and later for Georgetown University, where he remained until his retirement. Known for his intelligence and resourcefulness, Al was largely self-taught and became a true wealth of knowledge to all who knew him.
Al had a deep passion for model trains and spent countless hours building an impressive model train city in his basement—a labor of love that reflected both his creativity and attention to detail. He also enjoyed fishing and was an avid NASCAR fan. Above all, Al will be remembered as a kind, easygoing man whose gentle nature and steady presence brought comfort to those around him.
He was devoted to his beloved wife, MaryAnn Adcock, with whom he shared 60 wonderful years of marriage before her passing.
Al is survived by his children: Tammy Climer (Mark), Denise Oaks, Charles Adcock (Sophia), and Christopher Adcock (Ted). He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Nicole Quinn, Hailey Oaks, Tessa Climer, Noah Climer, Lily Adcock, Amelia Adcock, and Gunnar Adcock, as well as his great-grandson, Hunter Quinn.
