They married July 28, 1945 at her childhood home in Eagle Pass. As a military officer’s wife she created the family home in diverse places - from Boca Raton, FL to Tokyo, Japan. Being relocated to a new Air Force base every three years with kids in tow, she honed exceptional organizational skills. She used these skills along with her fluency in Spanish to the benefit of others, most notably as a volunteer at St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Alexandria, VA and at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in McLean, VA. She cherished the friends she made while volunteering. She also enjoyed baking for family and friends, especially cookies of all kinds. She was known for her chocolate chip, mexican wedding, and rosette cookies. She was an avid dog lover and enjoyed K9 companions her entire life. Gardening, puzzles, and taking long walks were pastimes she found relaxing. Being with her family however, especially her grandchildren, was her true joy. She will be deeply missed.
