

Amy was born March 13, 1951, in Waynesboro, PA, to the late Raymond J. and Mary E. (Zahorchak) Galli. The family went on to include sisters Susan, Polly, Beth, and Maria, and brothers Chris and James, and settled in Severna Park, MD. She is predeceased by her husband Vincent J. McCarron, Jr. She is survived by her children Daniel R. Garland (Dana) (Severn, MD), Emily Garland Klupa (Essex, VT), stepchildren Vincent J. McCarron, III (Madeline) (McLean, VA), Iain M. McCarron (Alexandria, VA), Elizabeth McCarron (Annapolis, MD), grandchildren Vincent J. McCarron (Emily), Josephine R. McCarron, and Hannah S. McCarron, as well as a large extended family.
Amy attended University of Maryland and Catholic University, obtaining her BA and Masters degrees. She worked for the US government and lived many years overseas collecting friends, stories, and souvenirs.
After retirement, Amy dabbled in photography and horseback riding, before landing on pottery as her hobby of choice. She was very active at The Village Potters Clay Center in Asheville, NC, and Black Mountain Center for the Arts, in Black Mountain, NC, where she created beautiful art and wonderful friendships.
Amy's great kindness and sense of humor will be deeply missed by her family, friends, cats, and anyone who encountered her.
Amy will be cremated with Murphy Funeral Home, Falls Church, VA, and buried at a later date with Vince at Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain, NC.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Northern Virginia at a later date.
