

Anita Sachs Morgan, 95, of Falls Church, VA passed away on October 9, 2025. With her twin, Marguerite (Midge), Anita was born on July 1, 1930. She was the daughter of Mollie and Edward Sachs and was raised in Washington, DC. In 1948, Anita graduated from Coolidge High School.
After high school, Anita started her 35 year career as a statistician at the Bureau of Mines, Department of the Interior. In March of 1951, she welcomed her daughter Shellie into the family.
Anita could be a prankster and daredevil. She and Midge enjoyed many adventures together, including sneaking out of the house as children. Later on they were known for switching places with each other’s dates. As young women, they even took flying lessons.
As part of a large extended family, Anita often was the organizer of family gatherings. She and Midge and Richard (Midge’s husband) organized a yearly Cousins Reunion.
Her husband Lester died in 2006. Anita later became a resident of the Goodwin House in Falls Church. She lived there until her passing.
A committal service will be held on October 19, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm at the National Funeral Home, located at 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22042, United States. Attendees are advised to arrive by 12:40 pm to line up, with the processional to the graveside beginning at 12:55 pm. Access to the funeral home is through the main gate off Lee Highway (Rt. 29); turn right at the statue resembling a whale tail and proceed up the hill to the funeral home.
A reception will follow the committal service on the same day, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, at the same location.
