

Arlene Catherine Lear, 75, of Woodbridge, VA, passed away Friday, April 22, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, John Lear. Prince William County School Food Service was her employer for 29 years before she retired in 1997. She spent many years enjoying camping and fishing with her family as well as summer vacations and holidays in Wildwood, NJ, Ocean City, MD and Outer Banks, NC. And let’s not forget yard sales, BINGO, and playing slot machines, just a couple of her favorite hobbies! She was born April 4, 1936 the first daughter of Mary White Merry of Arlington, VA and the late John Merry. In addition to her mother, she is survived by two daughters, Jacqueline Lear of Stafford, VA, Kimberly Lear of Orange, CA; two sons, Keith Lear of Woodbridge, VA; Jeffrey Lear, Sr. and his wife, Sheila, of Fredericksburg, VA; two sisters, Jean Hadley of Woodbridge, VA; Pam Burgesser of Hagerstown, MD; a brother, Jack Merry of Arlington, VA; three grandchildren, Jeffrey Lear, Jr, Jessica Barb, Dalton Lear-Mitchell and one great grandchild, Kennadie Barb. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Mountcastle Turch Life Celebration Home, 4143 Dale Boulevard, Dale City, VA with interment to follow at National Memorial Park, Falls Church, VA.
