 To Barbara's family, I am so sorry to hear about your loss.  I worked with Barbara at Arlington County DHS for 10 years and she was nothing but kind, giving and helpful!  I will miss her pleasant smile and her beautiful, loving spirit.  I was away during the holidays and just stumbled upon this site.  She is truly missed by her DHS family as well.

"Barbie" to me, we were childhood friends and lived across the street from each other.  So gorgeous and giving all the time.  We shared much in common with both of us having 3 brothers, the only girl and very devoted to the care of our parents.  We recently had reason to re-connect as we shared the passing of both our mom's at the same time.  Rest in peace Barb.

I worked with Barbara for many years in Arlington County Government. She was always, kind, gracious and just a joy to work with. She had such a warm, friendly demeanor and was always pleasant to be around. I am very saddened to hear of her passing. My thoughts are with the family during this very difficult time. I will always cherish the fond memories I have of knowing and working with Barbara. She was such a wonderful person.

I was so sorry to hear about my Friend................we worked together for many years in Arlington County.  She helped me more than I can say.  I have always considered her not only a colleague but a Friend.  We both read many of the same books and would always exchange them.  My heart is filled with sorrow with her passing.  I was out of town and could not attend the services but please know my sympathy goes out to Barbara's Daughter, Brothers and other family members.  I will truly miss her.

My hope is that as time passes the void you feel in your heart today will be filled with happier memories as these pictures certainly depict.

I met Barbara almost twenty-five years years ago.  She was my guide when I came to the County and worked in HRD, and then again was my colleague when I moved to DHS.  Her beautiful classy style was like none other.  And her knowing glances full of the ground truths were so helpful.  Mostly I will remember her gentle, kind spirit and her willingness to share all her immense knowledge with me and others.  May peace come to her family and loved ones. Prayers and condolences to the family. Barbara was very helpful when I first came to Arlington County four years ago. She was very sincere, friendly, and caring. She was always available to answer questions. I could immediately tell that she was a person of character and integrity. Someone with Barbara's qualities is hard to find.

My deepest and most sincere condolences to Barbara's daughter and all her family members. Barbara proudly displayed the pictures of her daughter and family members at her cubicle and she loved to talk about them. She was so helpful and kind. Barbara served Arlington County for 34 dedicated years, and I had the please of working with her for 9 of those years in the Human Resources Bureau of the Department of Human Services.  Barbara was consistent in her approach and always eager to assist others in a warm, knowledgeable,  caring and kind-hearted manner.  She set the standard here and her presence is truly missed.
