As a young adult Carmen relocated herself to the capital city of Caracas, Venezuela. Here she commenced her career as a beautician. Carmen would come to realize her dream of owning a hair salon. Soon after another dream of hers would come to fruition, she would give birth to her only child at the age of 42. In the year 1988 Carmen migrated to the United States of America in order to provide the foremost opportunities for her son and to be closer with her family. She resumed her career meanwhile raising her son. Later she would retire and play a significant role in the carrying for and nurturing of her two grandsons who affectionately know her as "Abo".
Carmen dedicated her life to her family and love ones. She will be immeasurably missed by those whose lives she touched. Carmen Mendez Villacorta is survived by her son Alexander J Mendez and her two grandsons Marco A Mendez and Alexander J Mendez II.
