David was fun & friendly. He could make friends with anyone & was truly interested in talking & listening to people. He had a wide variety of friends & enjoyed laughing & having fun. He was always up for an adventure & loved jumping into his Stang & driving to check out new places. His favorite ones were Skyline Drive & exploring the mountains and the beach at Ocean City Maryland. He loved the crowds & noise as well as the quiet & peaceful views of sunrise & sunsets. He had a lot of energy & was always up for having fun.
He was smart, outgoing and a multi-layered person who could be serious & comptemplaintive about the world. But mostly he was funny, kind, irreverent & always had a comment to make that made you think & then laugh. He had a killer smile. He chose to always keep positive despite his health issues during the later part of his life. His fun personality stayed intact throughout his entire life.
David & his wife Janet were inseparable & loved being with each other. They were together from the first day they met over 44 years ago & were married July 10, 1983 for almost 42 years. Although health issues in his later years slowed him down a bit it was just down to a normal person's level.
As a musician David was a percussionist, drummer & played bass. He started playing drums at age 9 & was inspired by drum icon Gene Krupa who David played for at age 13. Music was an important part of his life & he played all types of music his favorite being upbeat blues.
In lieu of flowers; please consider donating to the band department (not surprisingly, David's favorite subject in school) in David's name to George Mason High School (now Meridian High School) so more people can learn the joy of playing that he did. Or to Golden Retriever Rescue in David's name & for his beloved dog & companion Luke (GRREAT.org)
David loved life & to his family & many friends he would want you to smile & think about the many great times you have had with him over the years.
