
Beloved father and husband David J. Mason of Bethesda, Maryland, 90, passed away on Monday, May 9th. He was born October 19, 1920 in New York. David received a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from the Harvard Business School. He worked on the historic Manhattan Project as a mechanical engineer and was a Management Program Analyst with NASA during the famed Apollo moon missions. Later he joined the Naval Air Systems Command as a Deputy Division Director where he remained until his retirement in 1990. In retirement Mr. Mason served as a Court-Appointed Special Advocate and a Consumer Affairs Volunteer for Montgomery County, Maryland, where he lived for 47 years. He is survived by his wife Janice, daughter Melinda McArdle (Peter), son Garry Mason, son Adam Mason (Shannon), daughter Jodi Cohen (Gary), and six loving grandchildren. Graveside services to be held at King David Memorial Gardens, Falls Church, VA on Wednesday, May 11th, at 11:00am. Family will be receiving friends immediately following the service at the home of Gary & Jodi Cohen. Shiva services will also be held there May 11th and 12th at 7:30pm.
