

In loving memory of Dorothy Virginia (McIntosh) Atkins of Alexandria Virginia who passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2015 at Capital Caring Hospice of Arlington, Virginia. She was born on July 27, 1933 in Loudoun County, Virginia. Dorothy was a graduate of Osborn High School, Manassas Virginia, a long time resident of Alexandria, Virginia and a member of United Methodist Church. She was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She looked forward to family holidays and gatherings. She enjoyed traveling, eating out, bingo, and playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louise G. McIntosh and Newman C. McIntosh and survived by her three children Charles Lee Atkins, Jr. (Linda) of North Augusta, South Carolina, Patricia (Atkins) Crabbe of Alexandria, Virginia, and John Douglas Atkins of Alexandria, Virginia. Her three grandchildren Charles Lee Atkins III (Kate) of Charleston, South Carolina, Stephanie Niner (Richard) of Springfield, Virginia, and Christopher Michael Crabbe (Joanna) of Richmond, Virginia and her five great grandchildren Justine, Richard, Julia, Tyler, and Garrett.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Burke Health and Rehabilitation Center and Capital Caring Hospice for their caring and support.
A private graveside Service will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, please send all donation to the American Institute for Cancer Research (AICR): AICR,1759 R St NW, Washington, DC 20009.
