Dorothy G. West

Dorothy G. West, beloved by her family, passed peacefully in her sleep at home at age 93. Born and raised in Hammond, Indiana, Dorothy Loesch was one of seven children. In 1942, she married her one true love, Robert Harlow West. Following WWII, they settled permanently in the Washington area, where Dorothy worked for several years before becoming a homemaker who was active in her church and community. She is preceded in death by Robert and all of her siblings. She is survived by her children, Roberta Anne West and Timothy John West (Valerie), her grandchildren Dr. Amy Pollak (Dr. Peter), Anne-Marie West (Chad Cotton), Robert West, and Dr. Caroline Yezer, her great-granddaughter Isabel Pollak, and many nieces and nephews. The family is grateful to her long-time caregiver, Selamawit Tewolde. The family welcomes friends to Murphy Funeral Home in Falls Church at 11 am on Monday, June 15th, with the service at noon at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that remembrances be made to the American Heart Association.
