Frances M. Craig-Brewster

Frances Craig-Brewster (née Pearsall), of Falls Church VA, passed away on April 10, 2024 of liver failure. Fran was born in 1944 and grew up on Staten Island NY, attended New Dorp High School and received her BA from Cornell University in 1965, moving to Virginia shortly thereafter. Fran worked most of her career in medical administration, at Fairfax, Walter Reed and Bethesda Naval Base Hospitals. Fran lit up a room. She had a zeal for life and many passions including a love for animals, her children and grandchildren, good food, good drink, and travel. Earlier in her life she was a decorated pianist, a trophy-winning bowler, active in her South Woodley neighborhood Bridge Club which met for over 30 yrs, and as a “Band Mom” for the Falls Church High School marching band, accompanying the band on trips. Later she gave most of her attention to her husband Rick, traveling and hanging out, her daughter Cara, spending time together most weekends, and doting on her grandchildren, Ira 24, Hilary 22, and Cecily 22. She is sorely missed by all who knew her. Fran was the daughter of Gilbert H. Pearsall and Frances Begley Pearsall, and the sister of Gilbert F. and James J. Pearsall, deceased. Fran is survived by her husband Richard Brewster, her son Christopher Craig, her daughter Cara Craig, her 3 grandchildren, and her sisters, Mary Pearsall and Patricia Pearsall-Ramey as well as her dogs, Tucker and Cooper. A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 2-6 PM at The Murphy Funeral Home, located at 1102 W Broad St, Falls Church, VA.
