Grant Wade James

Grant Wade James was born on March 21, 1973, in Fairfax, Virginia and was a 1991 graduate of Fairfax High School. Grant was a dedicated father, son, husband and friend. He was passionate about his work at the Fairfax County Public Schools and helping others in need. He had a love for all animals and creatures alike, loved soccer and golf and nothing like hearing the roar of a Ford Mustang. He became the proud father of Sofia in April 2009 and Arturo in December 2010. Grant will be missed and remembered as the gentle bear and the handyman. Grant is survived by his mother Sandy James, daughter Sofia James, son Arturo James, wife Claudia "Susy" Contreras, uncle Lonnie McDonald and his wife Margie, cousins Colin McDonald and Larry McDonald and his nieces Isabel McDonald and Halie James. A visitation for Grant will be held Wednesday, February 8, 2023, from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at National Funeral Home, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22042, followed by a funeral service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
