Gregory Swope Johnson died peacefully in McLean, VA on April 25, 2022 at the age of 80. Greg was a beloved character whose charm and quick wit could make anyone laugh, often at your expense. He was an avid golfer as well as former marshall and mainstay at Jefferson golf course for over 20 years. Worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield and American Capital Life. He survived his wife of 56 years, Sue, who passed last June and his brother, Jerome, who passed in March. He will be greatly missed by his four children, Victor (fiancé Juli), Laurance (wife Christine), Sarah and Susannah (husband Paul); his six grandchildren (Loren, Stephanie, Riley, Nicholas, Leoden and Luke). We will always remember his love, his selfless devotion to our mother during her long illness and, of course, his never-ending humor. A private celebration of life event will occur at a later date.
